The city construction has achieved obvious results. Completed ￥19.732 billion fixed asset investment (excluding city maintenance fee) with a rise of 23.0%. We built up one batch of infrastructure projects of long-term strategic importance to the city's economic and social development: Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport has been built and put into uses, four 50,000-ton multi-function dock of Nansha Terminal Phase One project of Guangzhou Port has been put into uses; University Town Phase One project has been completed; Main structure building of adjustment project for Metro Line 2 has nearly completed, building of Metro Line 3, Metro Line 4 and Metro Line 5 are progressing smoothly. Projects such as New Railway Station is pushed on stably. By the end of 2004, we had road totals length up to 4,790 kilometers with a rise of 4.8%, and the road area is 75 million square meters with a rise of 14.3%. We see newly-built 17 parks contributing to totally 173 ones with total area of up to 3,033.31 hectares. The rate for non-hazard processing of city's living rubbish is up to 100%, there are 304 days for the city's air quality index reaching 1st Level or 2nd Level, which is 83.1% of the whole year. The constructions of four big sewage disposal systems Liede Phase Two, Xilang Phase One, Da Tansha Phase Three and Lijiao Phase One projects have been built up and put into uses.
