Fuzhou is rich in resources.First, the proven metal and non-metallic minerals amount to more than 60 kinds.Porcelain reserves are abundant and good in quality. Uranium ore reserves rank No.1 in Asian .Timber, bamboos,virgin-forest are well preserved. Second, agriculture production is also rich. Nanfeng, Guangchang ,Chongren,Linchuan were named separately as the hometown of Mandarin Orange,White Lotus, Spotted Chicken, Watermelon by the Ministy of Agriculture in China. In the long history, Fuzhou has been enjoying the honor of “Home to Talents”. Among the famous “eight wits”of Tang and Song Dynasty ,it is the hometown of Wang Ansi,Zeng gong,and Tang Xianzu called”oriental Shakespeare”who is a dramatist in Ming Dynasty. Furthermore ,other eminent celebrities like the poet Yan Shu ,Yan Jiao ,philosopher Lu Jiuyuan and anti-Japan general Tan Lun. In modern time, there are 8 members in CAS (Chinese Academy of Sciences) and CAE (Chinese Academy of Engineering).
